Steve Bateman came to Calvary Baptist as Pastor on December 7, 2009. He is a 2007 graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC and earned a Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies. He was ordained as a Southern Baptist Minister in May 2003. Steve also is employed as a marketplace chaplain for companies in Mecklenburg and Union counties, NC. Steve and his wife are originally from Pennsylvania but have been living in NC for 11 years.
Steve is married to Kim and they have a son, Josh, age 26 and a daughter, Kerry, 21. They also have a granddaughter, Makaila, age 3.
The Bateman’s live in Monroe, NC.

Kathryn Hutchens came to Calvary Baptist as the Ministry Assistant in April, 2003. She and her husband, Freddie are both native North Carolinians who moved to Lancaster, SC in July 2002.
Kathryn re-entered college life as an adult learner and earned a B.S. in Social Science from Gardner-WebbUniversity in 1995. She worked in the Human Services field in North Carolina for 17 years.
