Calvary Baptist welcomed Rev. Jimmy Fox and his wife, Cheryl to our church when Jimmy came to serve as our Interim Pastor on April 27, 2014.
On July 6, 2014 Calvary Baptist extended a call to Rev. Fox to become our bivocational pastor and the church voted to have Jimmy begin to serve in that role on that day.
Jimmy was ordained at Hermon Baptist Church, Waxhaw, NC on July 9, 1967.
Jimmy has served as pastor in churches not only in South Carolina, but in the states of North Carolina, Maryland and Florida. He is a graduate of Indian Land High School, Mars Hill College (NC) and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He has continued his education at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. and Montgomery General Hospital in Olney, MD and at UNC- Pembroke, Pembroke, NC.
Jimmy has served in various capacities on the church and local level, on the associational level and on the state level in Baptist life; most notably, Jimmy was employed by the Baptist State Convention of NC for 6 years as the Baptist Student Union Director and Chaplain at Pembroke University (now UNC-Pembroke). And for 3 years, he was employed as a Juvenile Probation Counselor with the Family Court here in Lancaster (1975-78).
Before coming to Calvary, Jimmy was a Guest Services Associate at the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte and he drove a school bus for the Union County Schools (NC) at Marvin Ridge High School.
Jimmy preached at several churches in our area, including Calvary and served as an interim pastor at a sister church in our association. Calvary is fortunate that we have Rev. Fox as our pastor and each week we look forward to his delivery of God’s word on Sunday morning and Wednesday morning and as he leads us in worship and ministry.
